Hall accepts a lecture invitation at the YMA on the topic of "Crime-Land"; offers job advice to a job-seeker; sends a poem's in honor of a friend's daughter's wedding; and writes various brief thank-yous. One letter written during his mayoral term to Mr. McCarty discusses a vote in council on a bill; one letter to Mr. Weed, presumably Thurlow Weed, dated Thanksgiving Day [1859-1862], Hall discusses H.C. Wetmore of Fishkill seeking Manderville's place and assesses their characters; he can act as counsel if Wetmore is chosen; Hall also discusses complaints about "the imperfection of criminal procedure and their consquences of giving protection to crime." Collection also includes a facsimile letter, August 4, 1871, from the Mayor to William E. Dodge, President of the Chamber of Commerce, regarding allegations made in relation to city accounts and public money expenditures; an unsigned resolution relating to Hall's impeachment as Mayor of New York City for malfeasance and misfeance on various charges, endorsed January 1, 1872; and an unsigned letter, February 9, 1872, from property owners to the Mayor objecting to extension of Lafayette Place
