4 editions published in 2014 in French and Undetermined and held by 60 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published between 2002 and 2006 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The petroleum reservoir qualities of sandstones are partially reduced by the presence of diagenetic quartz which occlude the cement porosity. Two sandstones reservoirs, the Brent and Franklin formations from North Sea, have been studied to understand the process and origin of silicification. Fluid inclusions are often used to constrain quartz precipitation temperature. However their possible stretching with burial is still a problem. Fluid inclusion (FI) petrographic and microthermometric study shows that large Th range cannot been explained by temperature reset. Microspectrofluorimetry of hydrocarbon inclusions and Raman spectroscopy of aqueous inclusions indicate compositional variations even for FI located along a single detrital gram-overgrowth boundary. Microthermometric and MSF data point out that FI located along the boundary are not representative of the beginning of the silicification. The diagenetic sequence and aluminium content in the quartz overgrowths allow to establish the origin of silica for each overgrowth zone defined in cathodoluminescence. High aluminium contents (up to 1375 ppm) are linked to feldspar dissolution which can be induced by acid meteoric water or organic acids. Pressure-solution and sponge test dissolution are minor source of silica compared to the feldspar dissolution. Oxygen isotopes were measured in each overgrowth zone and interpreted with FI temperatures to constrain the burial evolution of fluid. In Alwyn north, negative delta_18_O of fluid in equilibrium with the first overgrowth zone (-7%) points out the influence of meteoric water, probably introduced in the system during the lower Cretaceous emersion. From 2 km of burial, silicifications are influenced by evolved fluids (until +10%) coming from clay transformations in the underlying shales

1 edition published in 1989 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published between 2010 and 2011 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The geodynamic reconstruction and paleogeographic evolution of the Bohemian and Ardenne massifs is examined here in the context of crustal deformation and stress fields in the north Alpine foreland. Here, a chronology of vertical movements in the continental crust, which can be linked to the mechanisms of stress propagation across Europe, has been produced through an implementation of apatite fission track and apatite (U-Th)/He methods. The Meso-Cenozoic exhumation phases are connected with a reactivation of the Variscan structures, but also with the propagation of the Alpine front towards the European margin. The post-Variscan thermal history confirms that a sedimentary cover of Jurassic, late Cretaceous and early Neogene age existed on the Ardenne and on the Bohemian massifs. This cover was discontinuous and of nonuniform thickness because of palaeorelief and of a multiplicity of local and probably migrating depocentres. The central parts of these massifs was comparatively more stable and suffered relatively shallower burial beneath the successive sedimentary cover rocks. Based on the low-temperature thermochronological results highlighted in this work, on other multiproxy data provided in the literature, as well as on the regional tectonic fracture pattern, we conclude that the response of this foreland region to Alpine collisional stress regimes has been of a brittle rather than of a ductile nature. The mechanical style of crustal deformations north of the Alpine foreland, and the corresponding pattern of rock exhumation histories, challenge the alternative hypothesis of long wavelength lithospheric buckling in response to the African indenter

2 editions published between 2002 and 2006 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The extraction of uranium leads to the creation of mill tailings containing numerous elements such as radium, zinc, arsenic and residual uranium. Those residues are disposed at the surface and shall be a long-term efficient protection barrier against the pollution of the elements that they contain. It was demonstrated that those elements are mostly contained in amorphous iron oxy-hydroxydes that precipitate during the treatment of the residues. Those iron oxy-hydroxydes (OHF) naturally crystallise to goethite and hematite : their retention properties can thus change and may have consequences on the immobilization of the elements that are still unknown. The objective of this work is therefore to understand the behavior of radium, zinc, arsenic and uranium during the crystallization of the amorphous OHF to goethite and hematite. The first part of the work consisted in defining a method that allows to reproduce the long-term crystallization of the OHF but on a reduced period of time in laboratory. Geothite was the only ultimate phase created by this method. Some hematite was obtained in presence of calcium. During the first steps of the OHF precipitation, radium was completely sorbed but the analysis demonstrated that radium was leached in the solution while the OHF crystallized in goethite. This phenomena was also observed in presence of calcium, although it was slower due to the fact that the crystallisation into goethite was slower too. This behavior could not be reproduced on the OHF coming from the Ecarpière site : radium was still contained in the solid as the OHF were still amorphous. Zinc, arsenic and uranium were entirely contained in the OHF, as soon as it was precipitating. No leaching could be observed, suggested that zinc and arsenic were integrated in the OHF structure

2 editions published in 1999 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published between 2010 and 2011 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Major hydrocarbon reservoirs from North Africa are located in the Cambro-Ordovician sandstones, which partly originate from a glacial environment (Late Ordovician). In several intracratonic basins of North Africa, like the Sbaa Basin (Algeria), glacial Ordovician deposits are well developed (150 to 300m thick). These deposits are composed of very fine to coarse-grained sandstones, locally intercalated with clayous siltstones. Glacial Ordovician sandstones display high lateral and vertical variations of porosity and permeability, mostly controlled by burial diagenetic processes, and in a lesser extent by sedimentary facies. Although many aspects of sandstone diagenesis are well-studied, the character and processes of glacial-associated diagenesis remain unknown. Therefore, the main objectives of this thesis are (i) to assess the diagenetic history of Cambro-Ordovician sandstones of the Sbaa Basin, (ii) to understand the structural and sedimentological control on diagenesis, and (iii) to determine and quantify the role of diagenesis on the reservoir poro-perm evolution
Apport des techniques microspectroscopiques à l'étude des inclusions hydrocarbonées intracristallines by Jacques Pironon( Book )

1 edition published in 1991 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
