Henry Bright Jr. (1602-1686) emigrated about 1630 from England to Watertown, Massachusetts, and married Anna Goldstone about 1634. The book chiefly deals with his ancestry back to John Bright (Bryght) (d.1545) of St. Mary's Parish in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk County, England. The first records of this John Bright are in 1538, when he leased monastery lands from the abbot. A nearly complete lineage (i.e., for most children in each generation) from John to Henry is written in the text and demonstrated on pedigree charts
