Roy Little graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1949 and went on to become a designer for renowned French couturier Jacques Fath. He returned to Parsons as an instructor in 1958 and remained in that position until 1979. The nine numbered sketchbooks held by the Kellen Design Archives represent Little's work for Fath.

The sketches in pencil, ink and watercolor are by staff artists and represent clothing and millinery available to order in Bergdorf's custom salon. Representative designers include Dior, Balenciaga, Halston and Courrèges. House designers included Mary Gleason, Leslie Morris and Bernard Newman. The collection includes a complete run of sketches from 1950 to 1969, millinery sketches from the 1930's and a scrapbook of sketches from the 1940's. Printed material includes a pamphlet describing French and Italian designer clothing chosen for the custom salon in 1967 by Halston and Mme. Roux, the salon's director, and preliminary manuscripts and galley proofs for Booton Herndon's 1956 Bergdorf's on the Plaza. One box contains reminiscences by and about members of the Goodman family and papers about the early career of house designers Bernard Newman, Leslie Morris and Mary Gleason.
