Violent cop Sono otoko kyobo ni tsuki by Bīto Takeshi ( Visual )

In his first two features actor and television personality Takeshi transplanted the American police action genre into contemporary Japan. In Violent Cop, as well as directing, Takeshi plays the main role of a lone cop, Azuma, whose unorthodox methods and unyielding moral code are not to the liking of his superiors. When the murder of a colleague reveals police corruption, Azuma acts on his own against the yakuza he knows to be responsible. What Takeshi brings to familiar material is his distinctive persona as an actor - in turn deadpan, cruelly sadistic, stubborn and droll - and style as a director - off-beat pacing, unexpected outbreaks of violence and a cruel sense of humour. The Japanese title translates as 'Watchout! This man is wild'
