The family of a railroad worker is shattered when, after learning of his daughter's seduction, the father strangles the seducer. This is an example of the so-called Kammerspeil (chamber) film, one of several scripted by Carl Mayer. Unity of time and place is adhered to - the action takes place during 24 hours; objects are used symbolically; intertitles are minimal; pictorial continuity is emphasised by the panning camera which at the same time is used to deliberately advance the plot

SCHERBEN ; Regie: Lupu Pick. Mit Werner Krauß, Hermine Straßmann-Witt, Edith Posca, Paul Otto. Musik: Wolfgang Sternberg, Peter I. Tschaikowsky ( Visual )
1 edition published in 1921 in Undetermined and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Bedeutender deutscher Stummfilm.
