Action film set on a deserted South China Sea island. There, wealthy, reclusive arms manufacturer Charles Townsend (Weeks) gathers a team of mercenaries lead by Marine WWII veteran Steve Ryker (Douglas) to rescue his son whom he believes has been held in a Vietnamese prison camp since 1974. The mercenaries include a Black ex-Vietnam POW (Walter), a white Vietnam vet, three former NVA sappers, a journalist (Hayward), and a woman photojournalist (Killion). Townsend owns the deserted Kao Teng Island training ground, but Ryker knows the place, having been wounded in action there 45 years earlier. Unfortunately for Townsend and his team, the island turns out to be inhabited an unknown hostile out to take the millions in cash Townsend has paid the mercenaries. Is it a Japanese survivor of the WWII battle out for revenge on Ryker, or someone from Townsend's organization?
