Peirce Noland (ca. 1658-ca. 1715), probably a native of Ireland, owned land in Cecil County, Maryland, by 1688. He was living in Charles County, Maryland, by 1692. His will was written in Stafford County, Virginia, in 1715. His grandson, Daniel Nowland (ca. 1712-1761), was born in Charles County, Maryland, the son of Stephen Nowland (ca. 1682-before 1733). He married Henrietta Smallwood and had at least five children, probably more. Descendants listed lived in North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and elsewhere. Most descendants spell their surname Noland

Philip Peter Stamm was born in Niedermohr in 1793 and moved to Dunzweiler, Germany. He married Marie Elizabeth Seil, and the family immigrated to Sardinia, Brown Co., Ohio in 1840. He died in 1863
