DEFA animation No. 1 without words : classic animation from East Germany ( Visual )
1 edition published in 2000 in German and held by 38 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Sixteen short animated films produced by the East German DEFA Animation Studio. Early films were intended for a younger audience but during the 1970's and 80s animation films were created for older audiences with topics relating to the political atmosphere in the GDR. It is interesting when one considers the biting satire in these animated films, usually displaying the discrepances between the socialist ideal and the realities of the GDR, that some of these films avoided censorship

A comic satirical science-fiction film as well as a document of a rather short period of Austrian history, namely the ten years from 1945 to 1955 when the four occupying powers were in the country. The film takes a look into the future year 2000 where some things changed radically but most things are just the same as they were. The Big Four are still in the country and the new president suddenly claims that Austria is independent. The occupying powers immediately call the "World Protection Commission" that should decide whether Austria is endangering the world peace or not. If so, they will destroy the country or at least evacuate the population into sparsely populated regions of the world

Der Hofrat Geiger ( Visual )
5 editions published between 2004 and 2009 in German and Undetermined and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"Produced by the prolific Willi Forest, Hofrat Geiger (Counsellor Geiger) is based on a popular Viennese stage play. The story focuses on an elderly government functionary, played by Paul Horbiger. While routinely filing some yellowed documents, Horbiger learns of the existence of the daughter he never knew he had. The rest of the film details his anxious search for that daughter and the rekindling of the romance between Horbiger and a former lover. The film version of Hofrat Geiger proved immensely satisfactory to the fans of the original play."--Allmovie.com

As the two desperately follow the trail of the chairs, each retrieved chair is immediately searched for the stashed money, and each time there is nothing.
