"Flow of conciousness writing" it says on the back of the book, basically it means reading three books at the same time, characters and their thoughts and lives mixing like a surreal painting. Excellent.

You have to read a book with a title like this! Stanisic has a very original way of writing, dreamlike and very alive at the same time.

You would think that a book about Charles Darwin would be all intellectual and musty fusty, but more that half of this book is about a young Charles Darwin traveling the world on board the "Beagle" from an England in the early 1800's.

An inside look at autism, a child's observations in a world that suddenly becomes oddly patterned and logical in a funny way.

If you are interested in odd science and biology, try to find this book. I found one copy all tattered in a second hand book store and it is still mesmerizing.

Ursula K Le Guin is one of my favorite authors, she always fits perfectly. Changing Planes is about visiting different worlds filled with identical people. A what if....kind of book.
