A bedtime staple (2009-06-09)
We read this book every night before we go to bed. It's how we wind down for the day and go to sleep.
Our child is 20 months old and is not scared of the book or of Mama Llama not being there for the baby. In fact, it's a great teaching tool to help her understand that her parents love her even when they are not with her. "Mama Llama's always near/even when she's not right here."
This book so perfectly captures the emotional escalation of a child's panic over something relatively benign: Needing a drink of water eventually turns into a 3-alarm fire.
