The International Reading Association Children's and Young Adult's Book Awards are given for an author's first or second published book for children. Awards are made to both fiction and nonfiction in each of three categories: primary, intermediate, and young adult. Award categories have varied over the years. Prior to 2001, awards were given in such categories as younger reader, older reader, and informational reader. |
