	I'm first and foremost one of those crazy dog lovers. I think I was just born that way because for as long as I remember, I begged my mom for a dog for my birthday. Instead, I got a pet turtle. Little did anyone in my family know, turtles live FOREVER! I had that turtle from the time I was 8 years old until after I graduated college. I ended up letting it go in a pond behind the apartment I lived in because I just couldn't stand the guilt of keeping this turtle in a miserable little aquarium for 16 years. Who knew it would live that long! So then I got my first dog, a Boxer (pictured). And that began my downward spiral into crazy dog lover world... I'm working on my own dogblog or some sort of small community page so stay tuned when that URL is ready. Other things about me...I'm a user interface designer by title. I'm an Ohio native and am one day looking forward to flying south for the winters so I can avoid Ohio winter weather.

The best part about this book is his story of growing up in Mexico and illegally immigrating to the United States with a few dollars in his pocket and not speaking a lick of English. ... read more This is a great book to read if you are a fan of Cesar's show "Dog Whisperer" on National Geographic Channel. The best part about this book is his story of growing up in Mexico and illegally immigrating to the United States with a few dollars in his pocket and not speaking a lick of English. You really get an appreciation for his methodologies after reading his book and understanding how he was raised with dogs. The second part of his book goes into more training methods and the different kinds of dog personalities that can cause problem behavior. He preaches one main training rule to have a happy and stable dog: Exercise first, discipline second, and affection third. He believes in the United States, we put affection first, exercise second, discipline third and that is one of the reasons why we he sees so many unstable dogs. Basically as far as dog training goes, there is nothing new in this book that you haven't seen on his shows. But, if you want to get the scoop on how he became the "Dog Whisperer", then definitely read this book. hide Was this review helpful to you?
