These titles appear on the reading lists distributed to officers applying for promotion. The list of libraries owning the titles shoudl prove helpful to cnadidates trying to borrow copies through interlibrary loan. The www.policemag.com Patrol Tactics blog included in its September 29, 2009, entry, an article by Dean Scoville, listing books he considered the best books he had seen for inproving patrol officers performance. They are linked here so you can find them ore easily at your local libraries According to the blog entry, the article for which this list was creaded should appear in the November 2009 issue of Police, so watch for it. These authors may be participants in the International Law ENforcement Educators and Trainers Association's 2009 Meet and Greet the Authors event. Some of the books they will be showcasing are so new that no library owns them yet, but you can see some of these authors' past work.

The speaker at the NEMRT 2009 Annual Meeting inlcuded a list of recommended readings with his presentation. THe floolwing is a list of the titles he suggested. Several recommendations are not listed here: they are highlights from the AlZaeda Training Manual, and USMC FM 3-24 and M2 Keep watching: this list is still in the process of being compiled.

These books appear on the reading lists of noted risk management expert Gordon Graham.
