Manage data about your identity and services in one place

WorldCat contains more than just information about books, digital media and other items owned by libraries and other knowledge-based institutions—it is increasingly focused on the universe of data beyond such content. Through the use of Web-based registries, WorldCat is beginning to collect and redistribute metadata that describes people, places and things around the world in a systematic way that benefits both information providers and seekers.

These registries help make WorldCat a more comprehensive resource for end users, who discover library content and services in more places on the Web, and link to them more easily. Institutions and other parties that contribute data can efficiently manage their information with Web tools and services that automate common tasks, provide controlled data sharing and increase Web visibility.
