A. de Peyster, who started his sailing career as a cabin boy on the Ship Favorite and was involved later in life in a shipwreck in Delhi, near the Island of Timour, on the Ship Ontario (92015); journal of passage aboard the Brig Colorado, Boston to San Francisco (1849-1850), kept by David W. Buck with typed transcript of same, commonplace album of Lucy Ann Buck, journal of a railraid journey from Boston to Kelseyville, California by Arthur Henry Merritt with typescript of same, an album of pressed California flowers, miscellaneous trade cards, and genealogical information about the Buck family (92018); advertising photograph of the J. B. Henshaw & Son Diary of Salem, MA (92040, stored with 91007); research documents, which include photographs, trust documents, real estate documents, documents pertaining to fisheries in Salem, MA, documents dealing with the Gold Rush, and documents related to Zanzibar trade, collected for an unpublished book about John Bertram, a ship captain and shipowner from Salem, MA (92041); and printed and manuscript material, which includes notes, letters, diaries, photographs, etc, pertaining to Octavia P. Hamlin of Ipswich, MA, who bequeathed property to the Trustees of Reservations known as the Hamilton Reservation in Ipswich, MA (92043).
