Cole Porter's Can-can: A Parisian nightclub dancer in the nineties is sued for performing the Can Can. (1960).
Daddy long legs: Millionaire playboy Jervis Pendleton III becomes enamored with a young woman living in a French orphanage, and decides to anonymously sponsor her college education in America. When they finally meet face-to-face two years later, romance blossoms but is complicated by Jervis's hesitance towards their age differences. (1955).
Star!: Gertrude Lawrence was a musical comedy star who started out as an ambitious bit actress and moved her way up to being the toast of London and Broadway. Her success is offset by a stormy private life, which is given some additional ballast when she falls in love with an American financier. Gertrude was temperamental, sarcastic, profane and at times, self-destructive.
