I have heard about the defense for someone who committed a crime at this country is to tell the world that he/she is insane. This is one of the most often used methods to save the suspect from death penalty. The logic behind this strategy is that if a person is insane, that person will not be responsible for his/her behavior, including killing innocent people. Of course, this is only one storyline in this book. Kidnapping is another kind of crime that happens most often to children. The end of the story is pretty shocking, but smart readers will probably figure it all out before the ending.
