This book was so AWESOME!!   (2010-03-31)
I read the whole series of the Abhorsen Trilogy, and that last one, this one, was probably my favorite. It kept me up most nights for long periods of time, and I couldn't take my eyes away. The plot is really well done, and the characters are thrilling and well thought out. I would give this book...

ALA Top Ten List. Fantasy that will appeal to the middle and high school reader. Story of a librarian/warrior. 3rd in a series.
What an ending!   (2009-01-08)
This was an awesome ending to the trilogy! Lirael and Sam both play important roles, though maybe not what they expected as the story began. We get some long-awaited answers about the Old Kingdom's magic, the Dog, and Mogget. Yay! And, even better, we learn a little history...
