It is hosted by Lieutenant General Frances C. Wilson, USMC, President of the National Defense University. Guests included the Honorable Robert M. Gates, Secretary of Defense; Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; the Secretary of Defense; the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Service Chiefs; members of the NDU Board of Visitors and Foundation; NDU senior leadership; and students, staff, and faculty. Chaplain (Colonel) Eric Wester, USAR, provided the invocation.
