The final entry, dated 3 May, 1779, indicates 6 yds. of blue cloth purchased by John Boreman; attached below it, in a different hand, is the following, dated 15 June 1779: J. Boreman took for his own use 10 yds. blue strip'd cloth, so very much damag'd that by taking pieces out here & there he barely got as much as would make a pair of trowsers [sic]. Boynton will therefore please to enter it at what he thinks it may be worth, the quantity made use of was not quite 2 yds.
In March, 1779, McIntosh relinquished command of Ft. Pitt and the Western Dept. to Daniel Brodhead; in Sept., 1779 one John Boreman was Deputy Pay-Master General for the Western Dept.
