Bound between page 20 and 21 is a manuscript letter (1 page) which reads "At a meeting of the contributors to the monument, to be erected in memorial of John Harvard, at the room of the American Academy, on 25th August, 1828. Voted, that the Hon. Francis C. Gray, the Hon. Edward Everett, & Dr. George Parkman, be a committee to fix the day for erecting the monument, and to make all such arrangements for the ceremony as they shall deem proper for the occasion. Attest P.O. Thacher, Sect. pro tem." On verso is a fragment of a manuscript letter addressed to Eliza Parke Custis. Typed transcript of the Custis letter laid-in.
