Summary:	The world is currently experiencing a massive change in the balance of power as influence and industry shift from the West to the East. The international system as we have known it since 1945 is being transformed with the rise of new powers, the impact of globalisation and changing values. Much has been made of China's rise to rival the United Sates in global economic influence with India in tow, and Brazil becoming the other possible major global power by the middle of the 21st century. Some studies, notably those of Goldman Sachs (BRICs and beyond) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (The world in 2050), point to the potential importance of Russia, Mexico, Indonesia and Turkey.  Read more...
