Abstract:

"In November 1969, as lunar module pilot for the Apollo 12 mission, astronaut Alan Bean became the fourth human being to walk on the moon. He continued to fly NASA missions until 1981, when he began a new career as an artist. Most of his paintings depict memorable moments from the Apollo missions. Captain Bean is also a highly sought-after motivational speaker. In conjuction with a 2001 exhibit of his artwork, he hosted a special presentation at the Coaster Theater in Cannon Beach, Oregon in which he related his favorite Apollo program anecdotes.
