Alfred the bulldog doesn't think his face is right. He has no nose and his tongue sticks out. Throughout the story Alfred tries various costumes and prosthetics before he realizes that he'd rather just be himself. The photographs in this book were engaging and funny, and the message is important, if somewhat transparent.
