Abstract:

This independent study is to familiarize clinical staff with the kinds of experiences and resulting conditions that affect veterans who have been prisoners of war in the German, Pacific, Korean and Vietnam theaters of conflict. Furthermore, the health implications of such experiences are discussed and causes of disability are explored. Physical conditions, as well as mental health manifestations as a result of the POW experiences, also are reviewed.
