Abstract:

Investigate key clashes in U.S. history that produced profound changes in our society. Public TV documentaries explore the Whiskey Rebellion, sparked 200 years ago by the federal deficit. As the Civil War ended, 300 African American Union troops were killed by Confederate guerrillas but was the Poison Springs battle really a massacre? Why did the Nez Perce tribe, after 13 Montana battles, surrender 40 miles from Canada--and freedom?
