John Henry Amerine (1732-ca. 1805) emigrated from Switzerland or Germany to America in 1754 and settled in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. He married Sarah Picony there in 1757. He may have married for a second time after her death. He was the father of at least six children, born ca. 1759-ca. 1791. Descendants listed lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, California and elsewhere throughout the United States. The surname is also spelled Amrine and Emerine. Record chiefly follows male lines.
