"The foregoing insert was designed and set by hand in the Lutetia Type by Melvin Loos, and printed at the George Grady Press, the plates being engraved by the Walker Engraving Company. Shakespeare's 'Ampersand sonnet' was written out by Alfred Fairbank of Long Lane, Croydon, England, who also drew the page of ampersands, the top one being his original design. The frontispiece of interlaced ampersands is reproduced from a wood engraving especially made, as the lobes declare, for 'A.T.', the American Typophiles, by 'R.S.' who is Reynolds Stone of Chalvey Park, Slough, England. The 130 historic ampersands, taken from the works of ancient and modern calligraphers, are reproduced from redrawings made by Clarence Pearson Hornung."--Page [23].
