Abstract:

Following the death of her mother, Anna Flowers and her father Ken move to the new town of Peppersalt, leaving behind friends, school, and everything they know - The only family members in Peppersalt are Anna's boring Aunt Gladys and the eccentric Nana Bessie - Anna soon discovers she's really good at netball - The only problem is that the school bully Michelle - whose father is Ken's nasty new boss - is the netball captain - However, with the help of her grandmother, and her group of friends, known as the misfits, Anna is determined to silence Michelle and become a netball star Anna Flowers and the Goal Defence Bully is targeted at children, and girls in particular, aged 10-14 years old. It will give young children a unique perspective on netball and the obstacles of growing up in a new environment.
