Abstract:
Subject: Bust length portrait of Anthony Burns, wearing a dark suit and tie, surrounded by images of the events of his escape, imprisonment, and public speaking. From bottom, to left and around; Burns is in a prison, next he is seen sold at auction, followed by a post with broken shackles, next, two men find Burns and he is arrested. At top, is Burns sitting agains bags on a ship; next is his departure from Boston and he is seen in handcuffs, below that is a bucket of corn, a spade and a whip in a field, and finally at bottom, Burns is seen giving an address.
