Abstract:

Contains the original NASA film presenting highlights of the Apollo 15 lunar landing mission. Commander Dave Scott, command module pilot Al Worden, and lunar module pilot Jim Irwin landed at Hadley Rill and undertook three scientific expeditions on the lunar surface, exploring the craters and identifying Genesis Rock. They spent days in orbit carrying out scientific experiments and making observations. The film features footage of such activities as the standup spacewalk, traversing lunar soil via the lunar rover, the launching of a subsatellite, and the plaque the astronauts left on the moon that is dedicated to the fourteen astronauts and cosmonauts who had died in the pursuit of space exploration.
