In Dec. 1981 government troops massacred at least 143 citizens (131 of them children under the age of 12) at El Mozote in northeast El Salvador. Argentine-born artist Claudia Bernardi joined the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (which included her sister Patricia) as they exhumed the skeletal remains of the victims. This documentary juxtaposes footage of the excavation with scenes of village life, interviews and footage of Bernardi creating her art in response to this atrocity.
