"The "Autobiography" was first published in the North Carolina University magazine, Aug.-Sept. 1859. The "Biography" (p. -68)--appeared in the March, 1860, issue of the same magazine and is an extract, with some changes, from an oration delivered in 1835 by Professor Walker Anderson.
