Abstract:
In this Western sympathetic to the plight of Native Americans during Mexican expansion, El Sureño is one of the finest military officers in the revolutionary army, and is planning his retirement when he receives one last assignment. Traveling to Sonora, he is charged with making peace with the local Yaqui Indians. In disguise, he investigates events surrounding the Yaqui and discovers they are merely defending themselves against aggression. Armed with this knowledge, can he make the right decision for both sides?
