Subject: Marine print depicting the rescue of the crew of the Vernon during a raging storm. The ship, all but one of its sails furled, sits dangerously close to the shore in high waves. A wave pushes a life boat rowing toward the Vernon almost horizontal. On the beach, men and women are blown by the wind as they watch the action, tend a bonfire, or salvage cargo. Boxes and barrels as well as individual fruits wash ashore.

I came across a copy of a print of the " Bark Vernon on Lynn Beach, Massachusetts 02/03/1859", by pure accident. I had never heard of this ship wreck and I was interested to find out more. I am curious to determine if this is an imaginary shipwreck or a real one?I came to this website, for more information...
