Abstract:

Part 1. She's made her mark on the stage, screen and television, but audiences will forever remember her as Maude. Bea Arthur talks with 51% Joe Donahue about her life as Maude and golden girl Dorothy Zbornack and her new stage show "And then there's Bea". (10:03).

Part 2. The Ageing Disgracefully Club is a group of women TV's Golden Girls would be proud of. From parasailing and traveling to ten pin bowling and skinnydipping, these adventurous women refuse to be kept down by age and convention. Radio Netherlands Maggie Ayers pays a visit to the clubs Hertfordshire England branch. (5:19).

Part 3. Ruth Beckford could be counted among this nations disgraceful agers. This 75 year old ingenue with attitude is a dancer, choreographer, and mentor to thousands of young women. She talks with Mary Darcy about affirmations for women in the second half of life, and her new book "Still groovin". (5:40).
