Abstract:

In the second series of this epic series for Māori Television, the stories of Māori figures painted by the artist Gottfried Lindauer reveal a far more daring past. Whatever your sensibilities, revealed within these unique histories are stories that will make their way into your imagination. - Waimarama. Lindauer's largest portrait causes speculation when the woman in the portrait has an uncertain identity. Also, the story of a heated auction to win a Lindauer painting is told by a descendant. The painting in this episode is the portrait of Harawira Mahikai Te Tatere.
