Abstract:
In 1810s Tennessee an entire town battles a witch whose spirit has invaded a local family. They are the Bells and the spirit plays havoc with their lives, one moment abusing the children, the next saving their lives, nursing the mother to health, then causing the father's death. The worst is no one can figure out why?
