Abstract:

At a young age, the gifted Moses Froben is driven out of his Swiss village when the Church decides that he is a threat. On the verge of death, he is rescued by two monks and given sanctuary at the Abbey of St. Gall. When he hears the abbey's choir, he realizes that singing is his purpose in life. However, his gift is also a curse, as he is forcibly castrated by his teacher, and forced to hide the truth from his friends.
