Includes manuscripts and correspondence regarding Lewin's book, The Image and the Past (1968), and his translation of Karl Abraham's book, On Character and Libido Development (1966), and writings concerning Lewin's life and contributions to psychoanalysis by Jacob A. Documents his research on compulsive behavior, elation, psychoanalytic education, and dreams; and his work as cofounder of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, New York, N.Y. (1931), president of the New York Psychoanalytic Society, New York, N.Y. (1936-1937) and the American Psychoanalytic Association (1946-1947), director of the American Psychoanalytic Association survey of psychoanalytic education (1955-1961), and professor of psychoanalysis and psychology at the University of Pittsburgh (1962-1971).
