It is only fitting that Ladysmith Black Mambazo introduced the world to the beauty and intricacy of black South African harmony singing, the extraordinary style known generically as mbube. Ladysmith, after all, has been the preeminent mbube group for some twenty years, thanks to the expressive vocals of lead singer Joseph Shabalala and the precision harmonies of this close knit group of singers. Each track on this collection is a unique musical moment which reveals Ladysmith Black Mambazo's special genius and the breathtaking beauty of their deep, rich harmonies. - Back insert.
