This appears to be a rerelease of Pop Chronicles: the 40's: <a href="31611854">http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/31611854</a>, produced and narrated by John Gilliland. The original title and subtitle "The Lively Story of Pop Music in the 40's" (sic) were a both more accurate about the contents (it's not just about the big bands) and preserved the identification with the radio show on which this content originated.
