hands down one of the best books ive read this year. It's style is complicated but constructed beautifully. There are passages that really get your thought process going and give you a new perspective on writting. Stuyllistically Cormac Mcarthy's "Blood Meridian" stands on its own as the only one of its type in his canon of literature. His others works don't read quite the same. I hope to one day own a first edition of this book.
i kept a notebook full of notes and comments over the different meanings and metaphors in the book. Some topics and situations catapult back and forth toward teh end. This book demands intense reading and understanding and im pretty sure i havent even scratched the surface. If you loved this book and are really into westerns i strongly recommend Garth Ennis' "Saint of killer" story line.
