wonderful book

This is one of the best books I have every read. It is poetic, biblical in scope and unsettling to the core.

Melvillian odyssey

This book tires you out like reading Melville or the Bible.  But, it has the same kind of ultimate reward...deep, thoughtful, beautiful, chilling, apocryphal, disturbing...it's all of that.  "The Judge" is one of the most interesting villains I've ever encountered in fiction.
