Abstract:

Priti (Aishwarya Rai) witnesses a stabbing on the streets in front of a passive crowd, out of whom only Avinash (Anil Kapoor) tries to help the victim. Priti takes the stand against the assailant who is then imprisoned. In revenge the assailant's brother rapes Priti, who is thereafter ostracized; only Avinash will accept her and invites her to come live in his house, with the two children of his father's deceased illegitimate wife. Avinash and Priti's friendship turns to love, and soon he proposes to her. But what will happen when they attend a wedding for Priti's friend and the groom is the man who raped Priti?
