Description: approximately 300 bookplates : illustrations, black and white ; 19 x 12 cm or smaller

Abstract:

Chiefly custom bookplates printed by the University Press, Cambridge, Mass. Approximately half are laid into twenty University Press envelopes. 110 custom bookplates are mounted in a blue-lined notebook; many are signed in their respective plates by Frederick Garrison Hall and Geo. A. Brettell; also signed by Reverett, M.G.A., L.S. Ipsen, S.L.S.; many unsigned; the printing processes are identified in red pencil. Laid into the notebook are 15 bookplates in an envelope marked "Duplicate bookplates." Twenty-nine trade bookplates (space for names left blank) are unsigned, mounted in an album with cover title "Bookplates" with monogram "R.C." in a triangle; ms. numbering in ink beneath each bookplate.
