The division within the civil rights movement between the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) grows, particularly in their approach to the Selma-Montgomery Freedom March in 1965. That same year sees the National Voting Rights Act signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson.
