Signed: Given under my hand in the city of New-York, the twentieth day of January, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty, and in the twentieth year of His Majesty's reign. James Pattison. By command of the general, John L.C. Roome, sec'ry.
This and another proclamation by Pattison (Bristol B5101, Shipton & Mooney 43811) were printed side by side on a single sheet, and may or may not have been intended to be separated. The Public Record Office, London, has the sheet intact with both proclamations.
