Résumé :
Book TV. This seminar examined Book TV's impact on the democratic process - how by creating a national forum for dialogue about books on politics, history and public affairs has helped to develop an informed, engaged citizenry.

C-SPAN and Congression hearings. Panelists examined C-SPAN's influence on congressional hearings and the nation's political consciousness.

C-SPAN and the Judiciary. This seminar evaluated the arguments for and against cameras in federal courts-including the Supreme Court-and imagined the impact that C-SPAN could have on the nation's judicial process if it were allowed to adapt its legislative model to the judicial system.

C-SPAN Radio. This seminar focused on audio/visual material of the Lyndon Johnson and Ronald Reagan administrations that have been preserved and made accessible by C-SPAN and presidential libraries. Panelists considered how this information adds to our knowledge of the Johnson and Reagan presidencies and what these tapes reveal about national security, foreign policy, and the executive process.  Lire la suite...
